Laying out the global Wi-Fi 6 development window, Beken Corporation debuts at IOTE 2023 with Matter full-scenario solution

2023-09-22

From September 20th to 22nd, the 20th International Internet of Things Exhibition (Shenzhen Station of IOTE 2023) was grandly held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. With the theme of "IoT Builds the Base of the Digital Economy", this exhibition showcases the latest technologies and applications of the Internet of Things and contributes to building the base of the digital economy. As an industry-leading ultra-low-power, high-performance wireless connection chip design company, Beken Corporation ("Beken" for short, stock code: 603068) debuted at IOTE 2023 with a full-scenario AIoT solution based on Matter and audio & video applications.

A series of low-power, high-security products based on Matter standards

Currently, IoT devices use multiple protocol standards such as Zigbee, Thread, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The lack of versatility and unified connection standards among various protocols requires developers to integrate each ecosystem interface separately. In order to solve this problem, the Connection Standards Alliance (CSA), composed of nearly 300 well-known companies in the Internet of Things industry chain, officially released the Matter standard in 2022.

Beken Corporation has been deeply involved in the fields of smart terminals and the Internet of Things, focusing on the Matter standard. At present, series of chips such as BK7231 and BK7235 have taken the lead in passing the Matter certification of the CSA Alliance, and Beken has become the first manufacturer in the world to pass the Matter certification.

Beken Corporation provides one-stop Matter-PKI services to automatically submit pre-configured DAC/PKI to help customers focus on product application research and development. At present, many customers have widely used Beken's SDK to develop Matter products. In cooperation with customers, the company has achieved interconnection with the three major ecosystems of Google, Apple, and Amazon, as well as Thread devices.

During this exhibition, Beken Corporation mainly exhibited Matter solutions based on Wi-Fi 4/Wi-Fi 6. Matter is a standard protocol and the stable performance of Wi-Fi chips can meet this standard. Compared with similar products, Beken's products have four obvious advantages:

1. Beken has a rich product matrix that can meet various applications and complex customer needs. Beken products are divided into four types of applications: wireless data transmission, wireless audio transmission, wireless video transmission, indoor AOA/AOD and outdoor GNSS full-scenario positioning, with both low power consumption and security. BK7231M supports common IoT+ Matter applications; BK7238 supports low power consumption; BK7235 supports ACK for Matter; BK7256 supports 720P audio and video applications and Matter Commissioner role.

2. Hundreds of millions of Wi-Fi chips have been shipped, and their stability and compatibility have gone through market tests. Beken's products serve more than 300 global customers and have been unanimously recognized by market and industry leaders.

3. Reliable secure boot and hardware encryption guarantee. Currently, users in the IoT market have increasingly higher requirements for security and confidentiality, and Beken's related products have obtained PSA certification.

4. With the accumulation of leading Wi-Fi technology, it is the first manufacturer in the world to produce Wi-Fi 6 IoT chips. Founded in December 2004, Beken focuses on the Internet of Things, smart transportation and global positioning application fields. It has internationally leading RF-CMOS integrated circuit design capabilities and the most cutting-edge Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and navigation chips to provide customers with seamless integration. AIoT chip with low power consumption, high reliability, high security level and high-performance multimedia functions.

It is worth mentioning that in order to simplify and accelerate customers' development process, Beken launched the integrated development platform Armino. The platform achieves full decoupling between modules, ensuring that customers' applications and SDKs remain highly independent, allowing customers to focus on business development without going into the implementation logic of the underlying code, significantly shortening the project from development to mass production.

Lay out the global Wi-Fi 6 development window and create diversified application scenarios

After experiencing the market bottom in 2022, global Wi-Fi chips have resumed their upward curve. According to IDC data, shipments of devices equipped with Wi-Fi chips will increase slightly in 2023, reaching 3.9 billion pieces. In particular, Wi-Fi 6 chips have seen unprecedented rapid growth in their popularity in core application scenarios of consumer electronics such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and routers. However, it currently appears that major international chip manufacturers are unable to fully cover a wide range of smart hardware ecological industries due to limited resources. In addition, for the sake of maximizing profits, these major manufacturers have made practical choices. This provides broad development prospects for the Wi-Fi 6 chip market.

Beken Corporation has seized the global Wi-Fi 6 development window and launched the world's first IoT chip BK7236 that supports Wi-Fi 6. At this exhibition, Beken exhibited the highly integrated and high-performance Wi-Fi 6 audio and video SoC BK7256 and the corresponding single-chip solution. Related products and solutions can be widely used in electrical lighting, video door locks, low-power IPC, smart home appliances, baby monitoring, and a variety of other HMI application scenarios.

With the continued penetration of Wi-Fi 6 chips and the diversification of the application ecosystem, many new and more subdivided vertical application markets will emerge in the future, which provides a broader development space for the Wi-Fi 6 core chip supply channel market. With multi-device access, high anti-interference capabilities, longer communication distance, lower power consumption products, a large amount of R&D investment and the layout of new application areas, Beken Corporation will assist the full-scenario implementation of the Matter protocol and terminal equipment applications to achieve The massive number and multi-functionality of terminal edge computing nodes in automobiles, home appliances, wearables, audio and video, etc. have opened up a new era of development of the AIoT Internet of Things industry.
